Corporate Retreats
Set on 15 acres in the NSW Blue Mountains and just over 2 hours drive from Sydney or 3 hours from Canberra, Hartley House is the perfect place for team gatherings and corporate offsites for up to 16 people.
Hartley House is not your typical corporate offsite venue with sterile meeting rooms and serviced apartments. Your team will experience a truly unique intimate getaway, hidden from the external distractions of daily life, with access to all the facilities you need to run sessions with your team or operate your business remotely.
Whether your goal is to focus on heavy strategic planning discussions or connect as a team through some outdoor adventure activities in the Blue Mountains, Hartley House is an idyllic place for your next team getaway.
Open your mind.
We aren’t sure if it’s the fresh air of the Blue Mountains, or sharing a home with colleagues or clients, but something special happens when people leave the baggage of the city behind, drop their guard and open their mind.
The Grounds
Hartley House sits on 15 acres just 7kms off the highway on Jenolan Caves Road. The grounds are made up of:
The grand French Provincial inspired main house, sleeps up to 17 people in 7 bedrooms, with 3.5 bathrooms. The main house is equipped with multiple spacious living, sitting and dining areas for small and large groups. The large indoor fireplace is a perfect spot for gathering as a group.
The outside bunk room, only 20 metres from the main house, sleeps a further 4 people.
The 130sqm barn is a fantastic space to have your daily team sessions, host an event or celebration, and even enjoy a team Yoga class or exercise session.
The lookout - follow the lookout signs in the forest to the newly extended deck overlooking the beautiful rolling valleys. The deck is 50sqm and has a partially covered roof, so it’s perfect for a cup of tea in the morning or lighting a fire at sunset with cheese platters and wine.
The outdoor entertainment area has a large pergola with tables for outdoor eating, large outdoor fire pit, 2 BBQ’s, spit roast and wood-fire pizza oven.
The games room with pool table and table tennis is great for a bit of fun at the end of the day.
The gardens and forest - the 3 acres surrounding the main house and barn include beautifully manicured European and Japanese gardens, an organically grown vegetable patch and orchard, chicken pen, and a dam on the rolling front lawn. The remaining 12 acres of the property is sprawling Australian bush land overlooking neighbouring paddocks and valleys.
The grounds are fully technology and audio equipped - free Wifi throughout the grounds, an 85inch TV, surround sound system and audio/ video conference capabilities in the barn, as well as 2 TV’s in the main house with Netflix, Stan and YouTube.
The Experience
Your experience will be tailored entirely for your group and your objectives. Whether you’re wanting to come together for intense strategic planning, to do some team bonding in the Blue Mountains, or a combination of both, Hartley House is the perfect getaway location for your team. Here’s some ideas of what your program could include:
Work - choose from 3 areas to run your daily team sessions.
The Barn - The 130sqm barn is equipped with an 85 inch TV screen and surround sound system with ability to connect via mobile or laptop for your team sessions.
The Conservatory - located in the main house, this sun filled room is perfect to sit up to 14 with laptops.
The Pergola - for a less technology reliant session sit outside under the pergola.
Play
At Hartley House - there are so many things to do without stepping foot off the property. Attend a Yoga class or fitness session in the barn or out on the rolling front lawn. Walk through the forest to the 30sqm sprawling deck overlooking the neighbouring valleys and paddocks, or play a game of Pool or Table Tennis in the games room. Wander around the stunning manicured European and Japanese gardens, explore the organic vegetable patch and the orchard to find over 50 types of organically grown fruit and veggies, or traipse through our 12 acres of sprawling native Australian forest.
Further afield - Head out for a trail run or hike in one of the many nearby National Parks, cycle through some beautiful (and very hilly!) terrain, visit a local winery or do all of the above! If you prefer to rely on the expertise and knowledge of locals, we can recommend local adventure guides and tours that do everything from canyoning, to mushrooming and Aboriginal heritage tours.
Pick your choice of catering options
Community style - for a truly intimate experience, prepare and cook all your own meals in our large indoor kitchen or outdoors around the fire pit, using the BBQ’s, spit roast or wood fire pizza oven. Don’t forget to collect fresh eggs from the chickens each day and veggies, herbs and fruit from the garden.
Catered - for a more luxurious experience, we proudly work with a number of leading Blue Mountains caterers to provide fresh, local meals to cater for everything from salads at lunch to long table celebration dinners.
Both - you may want to self-cater some of your meals and have others prepared for you, we can help with both options.

“Hartley House is a unique intimate getaway unlike any other I’ve taken my team to before. Taking time away from the day to day tasks of running our business to refresh, recharge, focus on strategic planning and bond as a team has been so beneficial for our business.
Completely different to a typical corporate retreat with sterile hotel rooms and buffet breakfasts, the team have their own rooms yet live under that same roof, and we prepare and cook all of our meals together which creates a very different and special experience. Before enjoying a glass of wine and cooking wood fired pizzas for dinner, we gathered the wood and built the outdoor fire together which is also a fun team bonding experience. The outdoor fire pit is a special place and the conversations and laughter around the fire create moments and friendships that last forever.
If you do venture to Hartley, make sure you take time to venture to Blackheath (Govetts Leap or Evans Lookout) and take in a great view and bush walk. My tip is the Grand Canyon Walk.”
